Bapte

Elizabeth Bapteme Pritchett (Bapte) was quite literally a genius.  In 1851 that was not necessarily a positive attribute for a woman.  And Bapte, as she was known, was definitely not the normal woman of the day.  Bapte was tiny, barely five feet in height.  She was a left-handed, color-blind, anomaly who was multilingual in over twenty different languages with seven of them readily available to her tongue as easily as her native language of English.  At a very young age her father, Dr. Armon Pritchett a physician and widower, took Bapte throughout the world to learn different medical therapies.  The first half of Bapte’s tour with her father she learned compounding and medical therapy from him.  The second half was almost entirely Bapte’s compounding skills and genius.  Her abilities as an apothecary were unmatched by any woman or man of the time and for several decades afterward.  But, perhaps the thing that drew Pots to her most was her love and service to the Lord.
